Pine trees and a beautiful view
High above Minca at about 2 hours walking or 45 minutes by moto taxi, you can find yourself at the chilly Los Pinos viewpoint. The name los Pinos was derived from the 5 non indigenous standing pine trees surrounding the viewpoint.
Right next to the viewpoint is a camping ground. If you end up staying, you can enjoy an amazing view of Santa Marta as well as the distant Barranquilla. At night both cities light up for an amazing view and if you look upwards, you can also enjoy the starry sky.
In the morning, take a look opposite Santa Marta for a view off the rolling mountains and the snowy peaks of La Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
To get to Los Pinos, you can either take a moto taxi for 20.000 or walk up yourself (roughly 2.5 hours). Walking you can either go the direction of Pozo Azul and Finca La Victoria or swing around from the other side via Las Cascadas De Marinka.
- Enjoy a beautiful view of Santa Marta
- Bring warm clothes as it is quite chilly
