Bee keeping
for bee-ginners
Carpe Diem has some 10 beehives. So this is the perfect place to learn basic skills on bee keeping and honey harvesting. You can enjoy a guided tour with Jordi (only Spanish) in which he explains the most important things you need to know about bee keeping. We wear uniforms, go into the forest, show the hives, open them, and explore their life and different systems. This is a very practical guidance, so you will probably never forget it! After the tour in the forest, we show you how to make a very nice soap from a mix of honey and the aloe vera natural plant. You can use the soap in the evening or next morning or you can take it with you as a souvenir.
Bee keeping is a fascinating activity. However, there is always a risk to be stinged – it occurs only very rarely -, so this tour is not a good idea for alergic persons. However, if you keep some basic rules in mind, most people should be able to fully enjoy this activity.
We need a minimum of 2 persons and one day notice in advance please.
Possible on: every day except Sundays. Only possible for guests staying at Carpe Diem.
Time duration: 1,5 hour.
