Taganga
The lively fishing village
Originally a fishing village, Taganga has exploded into a diving and tourist haven. Take pleasant strolls along the beach, eat some of the freshest fish, drink delicious natural juices or take a quick hike to the playa grande located just around the side of the town.
There is a lot of partying going on in the village. However if you look for a place where you still have a good nightrest then go to Sierraventura. Nico the owner will happily explain you all the to do’s in the region, they also have a bar, nice big swimming pool, restaurant and comfortable rooms with airco.
Another good option for the backpacker is Casa de Felipe, situated a bit further on a hilltop.
Casa Los Cerros is a very small hotel/boutique, a bit outside town with a swimming pool and nice view over town, good quality service and a bit more expensive.
Also if you want to do some interesting activities in the surrounding area, SierraVentura is the place to be in Taganga. Nico, the owner, will happily take you with his jeep to the most remote places in the region, including Cabo de La vela and the Northern Peninsula.
